Math Vocabulary - Students will be assessed on their knowledge of these words next week.

1. Numerator- the number above the line in a fraction. It shows the shaded parts in a whole.
2. Denominator- the number below the line in a fraction. It shows the number of equal parts into which the shape is divided.
3. Sum-the answer to an addition problem
4. Product- the answer to a multiplication problem
5. Difference- the answer to a subtraction problem 
6. Quotient- the answer to a division problem 
7.  Divisor- a number which divides 
8.  Partition- divide into equal parts
9. Perimeter- the distance around a 2-D shape
10. Area- the amount of space an object takes up
11.  Standard form- the way to write a number
12. Expanded form- shows the value of each digit in the number
13. Perpendicular- two lines that meet at a right angle 
14. Parallel- lines that will never meet 
15.  Estimate- a number close to the exact number
    Vertices- a point where two lines meet
