September 11

Students looked for friends who could help them round numbers to the nearest ten.

We practiced our spelling words this week!

Students enjoyed trying a dish from Spain. We are learning about communities around the world this week!

Language Arts: This week students worked on reading fluently. Students practiced a play and shared it with our class. We also continued to review realistic fiction, story elements, and summarizing.

Math: This week we studied rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred. We also began learning how to estimate when adding or subtracting. Next week we will work on addition within 10,000. Even though we are moving on in math, we will continue to circle back and review math skills students still need practice with.

Midterms: Please remember that midterms are only a reflection of half of our quarter. Students still have opportunities to bring their grades up! If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s report, please feel free to contact me.
