What we
are learning in school:
Language Arts: We continued learning about story elements, summarizing, and synthesizing during our reading lessons. Students searched for story elements (characters, setting, problem, solution, and lesson) in books they were reading. If you are reading with your child, please ask him/her questions about the story elements in their book.

Summarizing is also a very important skill to work on at
home. Ask your child to describe the important details from their story in
their own words!
Math: This week we studied
rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred. We will continue to review and
work on this concept next week. Students will have a test on Friday over rounding numbers.
Jar Wars: Warsaw Community Schools
are teaming up to raise money to feed children that do not have enough to eat. Two
teachers from Warsaw Schools organized this event last year and we are excited
to join them again! Eisenhower will be raising money to purchase meals. If your
child brings in change, they can add it to our jar. If your child wants to
sabotage another classroom’s jar, they can bring in dollar bills. If you would
like to learn more about Feed My Starving Children or volunteer to pack meals,
please see the links below.
